Is travel insurance mandatory for Turkey tourist visa?

Since 2016, a travel insurance has become mandatory for all tourists traveling to Turkey and must be bought before even applying for a visa. In case a valid travel insurance document is not submitted in your visa application, your visa may be rejected.
