Thereâs probably never been a time where so many of us are this desperate to go on holiday to reunite with the family. Whether youâre a beach-loving group or prefer adventure-based activities, here are some of the best destinations for multi-generational families to visit.
Staycation Destinations
Cornwall, England
If youâre thinking of planning a family holiday in the UK then Cornwall has a lot to offer. It is home to hundreds of stunning sandy beaches with over 400 miles of coastline. Cornwall experiences large waves making it a haven for surfers and body boarders alike. For the food lovers Cornwall is well known for its Cornish ice cream, cream tea and of course⦠Cornish pasties!
Why not visit Landsâ End, the most south-westerly point of the UK and
gaze out across the Celtic sea. Another unique attraction is St Michaelâs
Mount, a tidal island managed by the National Trust which is separated from the
mainland by just 500m and only reachable on foot at low tide.
The Highlands, Scotland
From one end of the UK to the opposite. The Scottish Highlands is a staycation every Brit should experience. From the stunning scenery of Glen Coe, to skiing and hiking the mountains of the Cairngorms National Park, there is so much to see and do.

out filming locations such as the Glenfinnan Viaduct in Inverness-shire, used
in the Harry Potter franchise for the Hogwarts express scenes. James Bond fans
driving through Glen Etive, may recognise the backdrop from âSkyfallâ.
The Scottish Highlands are
home to many of the highest mountains in the UK, including Ben Nevis and also
the famous âLoch Nessâ. Get the children excited with tales of the Loch Ness
monster, and be sure to take a camera to capture some pictures of the glorious landscapes.

Crete, Greece

Barbados

look no further than Barbados. The Caribbean island country is known for its
tropical beaches, itâs historical capital âBridgetownâ, a UNESCO world heritage
site, and claims to be the birthplace of the popular liquor rum.
On a visit to Bridgetown you will find
a number of historical and architecturally interesting buildings which you can
learn about through guided tours from locals.
