The Claims Free Protection (CFP) Endorsement is all about recognizing customers who have upheld a claims-free history. This new product is designed to protect long-term policyholders from rate increases if they need to file their first claim.

What is a claims free discount?

If nobody listed on your car insurance policy has made a claim within the last five years, then you may qualify for a claims-free discount. Typically, a claims-free discount gives you 15% to 30% off car insurance premiums until you get into an accident.

Does Root still track driving after test drive?

During your “test drive,” the app will track your driving behaviors — speed, braking habits, mileage, etc. At the end of your test period, you’ll find out whether Root will offer you a policy and how much you’ll pay for the coverage.

We can request cancellation of your old insurance policy for you. You can choose that option in the app. It may take up to 2 weeks for your old carrier to process the cancellation, but it will be retroactive to the day you started your Root policy.
