Zurich North America names new Midwest head

Zurich North America has announced the appointment of Gerald Chiddick (pictured above) as regional executive for its Midwest Region, effective Thursday. Chiddick will report to Carl Sutter, head of distribution and regional management at Zurich North America.

In his new role, Chiddick will be responsible for executing Zurich’s business strategy for the Midwest region, including delivering plans for strategic growth, profitability and operational excellence, as well as building strong relationships with the company’s customers and distributors.

Chiddick rejoined Zurich last year as US middle market head of real estate, retail and hospitality after a stint as vice president of marketing for Amerisure. He previously held roles in product and business development at Amerisure. From 1996 to 2008, Chiddick held various leadership roles at Zurich, including senior marketing officer for small business, vice president of sales and distribution for commercial markets, Northeast regional executive and vice president of e-business services for Zurich Middle Markets. He also led the Zurich Global Express team. Before joining Zurich in 1996, Chiddick held field underwriting positions at Chubb.
