Zurich extends partnership with mental health charity

21 November 2022

Zurich Australia has renewed its collaboration with mental health charity Mr Perfect for 12 more months.

The agreement marks five years of partnership between the two organisations, which was celebrated ahead of International Men’s Day on November 19.

Mr Perfect is a grassroots charity that sets up informal gatherings for men to build connections. Since its partnership with Zurich, the charity has expanded to over 40 locations across the country.

Zurich Australia Head of Brand Marketing and Corporate Affairs Linda Griffin praised the work of Mr Perfect to create “a safe space for meaningful conversation between men”.

“We know that mental health conditions are on the rise, and that reluctance to seek help disproportionately affects men,” Ms Griffin said

“A recent national study of mental health found that 18% of men suffered a 12-month mental disorder in 2020-21, yet only one in eight men saw a health professional for their mental health compared with one in five females.”

Mr Perfect founder Terry Cornick thanked Zurich for their support, saying that the charity was on a “great trajectory” with the help of its partnership.
