WTW has unveiled a new China client division within its corporate risk and broking (CRB) operations in North America, naming Jie Yan as division leader.
The China client unit falls under the broader Asia risk division, which was set up in December 2023. The Asia risk division consists of dedicated teams for Japan, South Korea, and India, in addition to China, all designed to address the unique risk management approaches as well as the economic and cultural considerations in these markets.
Christopher Condello, head of the Asia risk division at CRB NA, oversees the country-specific groups and is behind the China-focused expansion.
Meanwhile Yan, who assumed her post on September 1, has over a decade of experience in the industry and possesses a deep knowledge of cultural and market nuances of China. Her priority will be leading the division’s efforts to drive growth and strengthen relationships with Chinese clients operating in North America.
Based in New York, Yan previously served as senior client advocate/director at WTW.
“We are excited about the opportunities this new division presents,” stated Condello. “I am confident that, under Jie’s leadership, we will be able to deliver unparalleled support and service to our Chinese clients with operations in North America.
“Our focus is on building a market-specific team that can deliver tailored solutions for clients in this key market.”
Earlier this year, CRB NA welcomed Tia Wilson as deputy regional leader and global client advocate.
At the time, Wilson said: “I am thrilled to join CRB NA to contribute to the team’s continued success. I look forward to collaborating with our talented team to deliver value and superior service to our clients, while strengthening our position as the best industry specialist broker in North America.”
