WA Premier and Treasurer Mark McGowan has announced three new appointments to key positions on the state’s Insurance Commission board.

The premier named Rob Bransby as the board’s new Chair for a three-year term to replace the outgoing Frank Cooper. Mr Bransby has served as a board commissioner for seven years and holds over 25 years of experience in the financial and insurance sectors, including as CEO of private health insurer HBF.

Julie Keene has been appointed as Deputy Chair; she holds over 20 years of experience in non-executive director roles across several industries and was named a commissioner in January.

Former Federal Minister for Public Service Ben Morton has been selected to join as a commissioner. Mr Morton served as a Special Minister of State, where he oversaw the Federal Government’s self-managed insurance fund, Comcover.

Andrea Hall will also remain on the board after she was reappointed as commissioner for an additional one-year term.
