WA Insurance Brokers joins with Fortuna Advisory

8 December 2022

WA Insurance Brokers have formed a joint venture with professional services provider Fortuna Advisory Group, effective from the start of this month.

As part of the changes the brokerage, founded by Peter Newbound in 2010, has rebranded to Fortuna Insurance Services, while continuing as an authorised representative of Insurance House.

Mr Newbound says the merger will provide clients with a broader range of services, with Fortuna’s offering including business advisory, tax and accounting, financial planning and wealth management, legal services, mortgage broking, business loans as well as CFO and bookkeeping.

“Fortuna shares similar values to WA Insurance Brokers having a great reputation with the quality of services they provide,” he says in a letter to clients.

Mr Newbound, who has more than 40 years’ insurance industry experience, says he has known Fortuna MD and founder Dinesh Aggarwal for some 15 years and both have been past presidents of the Wanneroo Business Association.

“Fortuna Advisory Group have offices in Balcatta, Geraldton, Carnarvon, Exmouth and Karratha – regions I’ve been servicing for many years,” he says.

Mr Newbound will continue as a director, with Sue Jones also remaining as his assistant, while the office will move from Wangara to Balcatta to be formally part of the Fortuna team.

Fortuna Advisory Group was this year named Firm of the Year in the Australian Accounting Awards, presented by Accountants Daily, and also entered the Australian Financial Review Top 100 Accounting Firms list.
