Vesttoo hires Alexander Pike as Director, Business Development, UK & Europe

Vesttoo, the insurance-linked securities (ILS) focused insurtech company, has added another experienced business development hire, with former Akinova and Inari employee Alexander Pike joining the company.

Alexander Pike has joined Vesttoo as a Director of Business Development UK & Europe, where he will help to expand and service the firm’s clients in the region.

Educating and developing clients is critical for companies like Vesttoo, as it seeks to introduce insurance and reinsurance firms to its technology-led approach to capital markets backed risk transfer.

Pike has a strong business development background and has had a focus on reinsurance risk transfer to the capital markets, through technology platform solutions in his previous roles.

Pike worked in prime brokerage at Morgan Stanley between 2013 and 2016, then joined venture capital firm Oxford Capital for a time, before moving on to join Akinova.

Pike was part of the founding team at Akinova, working as its Commercial Director while the firm attempted to build a marketplace for the transfer of insurance and reinsurance risks to capital market investors.

After over four years at Akinova, Pike joined INARI in October 2021 as its Chief Commercial Officer, a tech company that provides modern core technology infrastructure to insurers, reinsurers, MGA’s and Lloyd’s syndicates.

Pike joined Vesttoo this month, saying on Linkedin that “Providing the insurance industry with greater access to the capital markets has been a goal of mine over the last few years and I am looking forward to working again with some of the leading brokers and cedents in the industry.”
