Vesttoo builds-out capital markets team with Rivas, Astrom & Vilhelmsen

Vesttoo, the insurtech that uses proprietary artificial intelligence and machine learning to help companies assess and transfer risks to the capital markets, has added three new hires to its capital markets team that bring a wealth of experience to the company.

Having recently hired experienced insurance-linked securities (ILS) executive Stefano Sola, who joined the company in the role of Global Head of Capital Markets, Vesttoo is now building out a team to work for Sola, to expand its reach into investor communities around the world.

Vesttoo, the insurtech that has a particular focus on non-catastrophe insurance-linked securities (ILS), has been expanding its team over recent months, with numerous senior hires.

These latest three bring year’s of capital markets distribution, structuring and also specific insurance-linked securities (ILS) expertise, as well as connections to institutional investors.

The first new joiner is Javier Rivas, who may be well-known by some in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) space given his time at both Credit Suisse ILS and Swiss Re working on life ILS opportunities.

Rivas becomes Vesttoo’s new Senior Director, Capital Markets EU and has also has held senior positions at Willis Towers Watson, Zurich, Generali and hedge fund Elliott Management Corporation, with more than 17 years of experience in capital markets and reinsurance.

Next to join is Marcus Astrom, a former head of sales Middle East & Asia at investment firm East Capital.

Astrom has more than 16 years of capital markets sales and distribution experience and becomes Vestoo’s new Director-Business Development Capital Markets, focusing on UAE and the Middle East.

Jan Vilhelmsen has also joined and becomes a Senior Director with responsibility for Capital Markets in northern Europe. Most recently he was a Managing Director at EWM Capital and has more than 20 years of capital markets sales experience.

Vesttoo also recently announced the hire of Dan Dijak, who was most recently at AM RE Syndicates, as its Vice President of Insurance Markets in the US.
