UAC appoints its first ever CEO

“A respected industry leader”

For the first time in its history, the Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) has a CEO. In a media release, UAC has announced the appointment of Jenny Bax (pictured above) to the role, starting at the end of this month.

“On behalf of the UAC board, we are thrilled to have Jenny Bax join as inaugural CEO,” said UAC chair Heath Amber. “A respected industry leader, Jenny has vast national experience across broker, agency, distribution and business development.”

The release referred to Bax’s three decades in the industry and her “wealth of insurance sector knowledge” including leading distribution, underwriting and operational teams.

Bax is also a founding member and current chair of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance’s (ANZIIF) General Insurance Faculty Advisory Board (GI FAB).

Last year she re-joined Ansvar Insurance as national development manager. Bax was previously with Allianz as general manager for underwriting agencies and has held senior positions at QBE

Her role will replace the general manager position held by William Legge, who stepped down at the end of last year. Legge’s retirement ended a 60-year career in insurance.
