Twelve Capital, the Zurich-headquartered catastrophe bond and reinsurance investment manager, has promoted one of its long-standing portfolio focused investment professionals Etienne Schwartz to become its new Head of Investment Management.

In the new role, as a Managing Director and Head of Investment Management, Etienne Schwartz takes on responsibility for all asset classes under management at Twelve Capital, including the firm’s significant catastrophe bond and insurance-linked securities (ILS) offering.

Twelve Capital manages one of the largest UCITS cat bond fund strategies, as well as funds with more of a private ILS and collateralised reinsurance focus.

In addition, the investment manager also offers investment strategies across the industry balance-sheet, focused on insurance and reinsurance debt, credit and equity, as well as multi-asset strategies that blend the full-range of insurance-linked assets for clients.

Schwartz has worked at Twelve Capital since 2013, spending more than a decade with the investment manager, looking after portfolios of insurance and reinsurance-linked assets.

He was a Portfolio Manager for the firm’s “Best Ideas” strategy, that blended ILS with other insurance assets.

More recently he became Twelve Capital’s Head of Multi-Asset Portfolio Management, with responsibility for the side of the business where different insurance and reinsurance instruments were managed in single fund portfolios for investors.

Schwartz also took on responsibility for the Twelve Capital catastrophe bond strategies towards the end of 2023 and now, in his new role, has investment management oversight for the full range of fund offerings of the asset manager.
