Travel insurance provider TuGo has announced the appointment of Cathy Nurmi (pictured above) as vice president, claims.

In the role, Nurmi will assume responsibility for overseeing the claims administration, medical assistance, and cost management teams. Her primary focus will be on strategic planning, as well as achieving operational and service-level objectives.

Nurmi joins TuGo with extensive leadership experience, having held notable positions at organizations such as Pacific Blue Cross, Sports Insurance.com & Adventure Insurance, Sports-Can Insurance Consultants Ltd., and Oceanic Underwriters & Premier Marine Underwriting Managers. She also has a CAIB certification and a Level 2 BC Insurance Council designation.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Nurmi recently completed her Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in leadership, innovation & change from York St. John University. She likewise holds a Master of Science (MSc) in international business from Salford University.
