Trium Cyber brings in specialist to oversee international underwriting

Highly regarded underwriter joins from Aspen

Trium Cyber, a specialist in cyber insurance underwriting associated with Lloyd’s of London, has announced the appointment of Amie Watson as the head of international underwriting.

In this new role, Watson will lead Trium’s expansion into the London market, increasing the company’s international presence.

Starting her insurance journey at Lockton as a broker, Watson rose to become associate director. According to her LinkedIn, she subsequently accepted an invitation from Willis to serve as an account executive, where her responsibilities included advising major accounts, conducting claims analyses, researching market trends, and developing seminars on emerging risks for clients.

Her organization and client relations skills led to a six-month stint in Australia, during which she played a key role in the development of new business lines like professional indemnity, directors’ and officers’ liability (D&O), and medical malpractice. Watson also previously worked at Aviva, XL, Liberty Mutual, and, most recently, Aspen.

“Amie brings with her a distinguished reputation as a cyber risk underwriter and a profound understanding of contract wordings,” Trium Cyber CEO Josh Ladeau said. “Beyond her extensive international experience, her leadership and administrative skills have proven exceptional, making her an invaluable asset as we work to position Trium on the global stage.”

Elsewhere in the space, the cyber insurance market is now seeing stability after several years of price increases, coverage restrictions, and high cybersecurity requirements from carriers.
