To determine this year’s best insurance employers in Australia, Insurance Business first identified the top 10 most important benefits for employees in the Australian insurance industry.

For this year’s survey to find Insurance Business Australia’s (IB) Top Insurance Employers 2022, employees from nominated companies completed an anonymous form evaluating their workplace on a scale from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent) on various metrics. This helped IB identify not only the top insurance employers in the country, but what matters most for insurance employees this year.

According to the survey, the top 10 most important benefits for employees are:


Flexible work options (4.63)
Bonus or incentive programs (4.57)
Employee recognition programs (4.20)
Employee team building (4.08)
Performance reviews (4.00)
Family-friendly benefits (parental leave, childcare, etc.)
Company’s support for community or charitable organisations (3.87)
Paid leave above the government-mandated benefits (3.85)
Company’s involvement in green or sustainable business programs (3.84)
Wellness programs (health screening, fitness centre, etc.)
