TIH has announced the appointment of Chris Grady (pictured above) as executive vice president and head of strategy and corporate development, effective June 17.

The Charlotte-based brokerage introduced Grady as an experienced executive in the insurance industry with a strong track record in strategic planning, corporate development, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Grady joins TIH from investment banking firm Piper Sandler, where he was a managing director in the insurance banking practice.

Prior to Piper Sandler, he had a longstanding career at another leading insurance broker, where he was head of corporate development and M&A. There, he was responsible for all acquisitions, divestitures, and principal investment activity and completed approximately 80 transactions, including more than 70 acquisitions of insurance distribution firms in the US and Canada. Grady began his career in corporate finance advisory at Ernst & Young in New York.

Grady holds an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and an undergraduate degree in finance and corporate accounting from Ithaca College.

In his new role, Grady will lead TIH’s strategic planning, M&A activities, and other corporate development initiatives. He will work closely with TIH businesses to identify acquisition opportunities, assess their strategic fit, and execute against the company’s overall growth objectives.

Grady will also oversee the execution and monitoring of strategic initiatives across the organization as TIH aims to drive innovation and growth through actions and projects that create value for its clients and stakeholders.

“Chris has worked both as a principal executive in the insurance industry in a high-growth environment and as a leading advisor to insurance businesses in all subsectors of our industry,” CEO John Howard said. “As a result, he brings a deep understanding of our TIH businesses and the insurance market along with a strategic mindset to his new role. As with all our leaders, Chris is committed to our vision of being the company that attracts and inspires the world’s most talented insurance professionals.”

In other recent appointments for the brokerage, TIH also announced the appointment of Mike Conway as chief financial officer.
