Thomas Miller arm welcomes new chief executive

Thomas Miller Group’s investment arm Thomas Miller Investment (TMI) has named David Smith (pictured) as its new chief executive.

In September, former TMI CEO Hugh Titcomb was appointed as group boss of international insurance services provider Thomas Miller. He will be succeeded by Smith at TMI, subject to regulatory approval.

Smith – whose credentials include time spent at KPMG, Savills, and Just Group Plc – has been with Thomas Miller since 2018 in his capacity as group risk & compliance director.

“Since joining Thomas Miller, David has been instrumental in developing the group’s central risk function, as well as serving as compliance officer for a number of our managed clubs,” said Titcomb, who took over from Bruce Kesterton.

“David has a good understanding of our investment business, having served as a member of Thomas Miller Investment’s operational risk committee and as a non-executive director of Thomas Miller Investment’s UK board. I am confident he will apply his undoubted commitment and focus on continuing to deliver real value for our clients.”

Smith’s replacement, meanwhile, will be announced at a later time.
