TD Bank Group (TD) and Google Cloud have announced a multi-year strategic partnership.

Through the partnership, TD will add services from Google Cloud to its portfolio of technology solutions, which will support its banking experience offerings to clients.

Google Cloud will also work with TD to streamline application development and deployment. This will allow the bank to quickly respond to customers’ changing expectations through the accelerated pace of deployment of new features, updates, or financial products. Google Cloud’s engineering support will also help TD fully optimize its products.

“At TD, our technology strategy is helping us deliver personalized and connected experiences for our customers,” said Greg Keeley, senior executive vice president, platforms and technology at TD. “Our leadership and our talented, agile teams are supported by the relationships we have with our technology providers, including Google Cloud.

“Together with Google Cloud, we are positioned well to continue to evolve our services and help power new and innovative banking experiences.”

TD Securities Automated Trading (TDSAT), a subsidiary of TD Securities, has been using Google Cloud’s infrastructure as it is already supported by the Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE). Using Google Cloud, its team had constructed a data-driven research platform that scaled along with the business.

“TD is a true pioneer in embracing cloud technologies to reimagine the future of banking,” said Matt Renner, president, global field organization for Google Cloud.

“Our multi-year strategic relationship with TD will leverage the power of Google Cloud’s secure cloud infrastructure and world-class engineering talent with the goal of driving new levels of agility, customer-centricity, and engineering innovation to more easily adapt and respond to the changing needs of TD customers,” added Renner.

Google Cloud offers a fully integrated and optimized AI stack with a planet-scale infrastructure alongside custom-built chips, generative AI models and development platforms, and AI-powered applications.
