Synergy Comp names new president

Workers’ compensation insurer Synergy Comp Insurance Company (Synergy Comp) has named Chris Blough its new president after Lew Kachulis stepped down from the role.

Blough has over 20 years of executive leadership experience. Over the years, he had served as the president of a commercial finance company, the CEO of a credit union, and most recently, the CEO of Mennonite Mutual Insurance Company – where he spent seven years growing its niche property and casualty (P&C) carrier by over $20,000,000 and expanding the company into new markets.

Kachulis, the former president, will continue to advance the organisation as its CEO, with the changes supported by the board of directors and senior management.

Commenting on the leadership changes, Kachulis said: “We are looking forward to Chris joining the team and are excited about Synergy Comp’s long-term future.”

Blough added: “Synergy has carved out a unique and valuable space in the work comp industry, and I am excited to work with Lew and the team to grow that value and build on the strong foundation. Synergy offers something very special, and I want to see that offering grow to make an even greater positive impact.”

The board changes follow Synergy Comp’s announcement of its upgraded credit ratings.
