Supporting the insurance industry as the cost-of-living soars

The current cost-of-living crisis will put the greatest pressure on UK and Irish households we have seen in years.

In the UK inflation hit a forty-year high of 9.4% in June and could reach 15% by 2023. For average households, their energy bills are likely to double in the coming months and rise again in the new year. In Ireland recent figures show inflation also hit a forty-year record of close to 10% last month with energy prices already climbing

Food prices have been rocketing too because of rising production costs such as the price of animal feed and fertiliser. This has been exacerbated by the ongoing war in Ukraine.

The high rate of inflation on basic food essentials is likely to hit low-income households harder, putting further pressure on those already affected by a cut in universal credit benefits and rising energy and petrol costs.

The Insurance Charities would like to remind current and former long-serving insurance employees across the UK and Ireland it is here to provide ongoing and one-off financial support wherever it’s needed. It understands that things are difficult and sometimes some additional support may be needed, even if the Charity has helped you before.

It doesn’t matter what role you’ve had in the industry, and you don’t need to belong to a membership organisation to apply.

Full eligibility criteria and a simple online application form can be found HERE

If you have any questions do GET IN TOUCH, and please share the details with those in your professional networks to help reach those who may need the Charity’s support.
