Singapore Insurance Institute elects council members

The Singapore Insurance Institute (SII) has appointed its council for the 2022-2023 term (pictured above).

Jeslyn Tan of Crawford & Company now sits as the SII council president, FM Global’s Verma Sunny as vice president, Wina Marita of Matson Driscoll & Damico as treasurer, and Jeanette Lim from Chubb Asia Pacific as immediate past president.

The elected council members are Summer Montague from DAC Beachcroft, Tay Si Wei of Berkley Re Asia, Jeremy Dam of Chubb Asia Pacific, and Benjamin Ang of GoalsMapper.

Suang Wijaya from Eugene Thuraisingnam is the co-opted council member.

The appointment of the council follows the members’ election at the SII 48th annual general meeting held last June 27.

“It is a privilege to be elected SII president for a third term to serve the insurance and financial services industry,” Tan said. “…To the newly elected council, congratulations and thank you for volunteering your time and resources for the institute and promoting professionalism in the industry. After a hiatus of two years, we look forward to organising more in-person events for our members to ‘inspire, educate and connect’.”

On July 27, SII members and partners from insurance organisations planted 50 trees at Kranji-Woodlands Nature Way to support the nationwide OneMillionTrees movement. The activity was attended by Indranee Rajah, minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, second minister for finance, and second minister for national development.

SII has lined up a series of in-person and virtual activities and events for the coming months.
