Scor names Reinsurance CEO

20 June 2022

French reinsurer Scor says Stuart McMurdo will take over as CEO of Reinsurance, replacing Michel Blanc who will retire in January next year after more than three decades with the business.

Mr McMurdo joined the business in 2018 as CEO of Scor UK and the Scor Syndicate, and later became Regional CEO for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in 2020.

“[His] leadership was essential to improve the financial performance of the Scor Syndicate and to bring together the [Property & Casualty] platform in EMEA,” Scor says in a statement.

Scor says he and Mr Blanc will work closely to ensure a smooth transition and relationship continuity with the reinsurer’s business partners.

Scor P&C CFO Catherine Fassi will replace Mr McMurdo as Regional CEO of EMEA and Canada for P&C, effective July 1, and a recruitment process has been launched to fill the CEO roles of the Scor Syndicate and Scor UK.

Mr McMurdo will remain CEO of the two entities until the end of the recruitment process and regulatory approval.
