France-headquartered global reinsurance firm SCOR is set to add more insurance-linked securities (ILS) expertise to its ranks, with the hiring of Benjamin Jacquet who will join the reinsurer from his current role at Credit Suisse Insurance-Linked Strategies.

Jacquet is joining the insurance-linked securities (ILS) focused team within the reinsurers SCOR P&C Solutions division.

His new role will be Senior ILS Structurer, sitting in the Third-Party Capital Team, which is part of P&C Solutions division of the reinsurance firm.

Here, Jacquet will assist in designing and structuring third-party reinsurance capital and ILS opportunities for SCOR, which is likely to include both for the firms own retrocessional needs, as well as for its clients.

Jacquet has almost nine years of experience in reinsurance and ILS.

He began his reinsurance career at PartnerRe in Zurich back in 2014, where he first worked as an actuarial intern focused on specialty reinsurance pricing, before becoming a property catastrophe reinsurance underwriter.

In 2017, Jacquet joined the insurance-linked securities (ILS) operations of investment bank and asset manager Credit Suisse.

He began at Credit Suisse ILS as an underwriter of non-life risks, before becoming Underwriting Market Head for Non-Life ILS in 2018 and then most recently being promoted to Head of Underwriting and Pricing, for Non-Life insurance-linked strategies at the firm.

Jacquet’s experience covers both the reinsurance and investment sides of the ILS business, which should be a strong fit for SCOR’s P&C Solutions unit.
