Rokstone, Aventum Group’s international managing general agency (MGA), has welcomed Jordan Lanford as the global head of aviation, based in Atlanta.

Lanford will assume his position at Rokstone later this month after completing his notice period at AIG, where he held the position of head of aerospace for North America. With over two decades of experience in the aviation industry, Lanford spent 17 years at AIG and initiated his career as a commercial pilot and flight instructor.

In his role at Rokstone, he will oversee the expansion of the global aviation team and portfolio, initially focusing on North America and advancing the MGA’s existing portfolio in the Middle East. Rokstone plans to further invest in augmenting the aviation team with respected aviation professionals and technology solutions to enhance the trading experience.

The North America facility will be developed in collaboration with Allianz Commercial, focusing on SME businesses, encompassing light aircraft, commercial aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, commercial general liability (airports, fixed base operators, and service providers), and manufacturers’ products liability for non-critical component providers.

“We’re very excited to have Jordan on board with market leading support from Allianz Commercial,” Rokstone CEO James Potter said. “He is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable aviation underwriters in the world and we’re excited to be working with him to develop and grow a global market leading aviation portfolio. We continue to broaden our specialty (re)insurance portfolio, expanding both our footprint and our appetite, working alongside our capacity partners to continue to outperform the market.

“Our specialist knowledge, use of technology, including an in-house market leading actuarial team based in London, and our disciplined approach to underwriting means we protect our capacity collaborations long term and provide excellent returns for our capacity providers,” Potter said.
