RAC Insurance and Clover target broker market

Technology-led underwriting agency Clover Insurance has partnered with Perth-based RAC Insurance as it looks to simplify the placement of cover for brokers and their customers.

“RAC is a well-respected membership organisation and we are delighted to be working with them to bring additional capacity to the intermediated market,” Clover founder Blair Nicholls said.

The start-up insurer launched its OnePatch platform late last year. It began by offering business pack, while home will be available late March and personal and commercial motor will be offered from the second quarter, supported by RAC capacity.

Clover says OnePatch provides significant time savings for partners by providing access to external data to speed up the quoting process and provide a definitive price or decline without a lengthy referral process.

Motoring organisation RAC’s insurance arm is currently focused on direct business, with the group having a high consumer profile in WA.

RAC Insurance GM Damien Van Pelt says the partnership with Clover will enable a new approach for the organisation through accessing the broker market.

“RAC is pleased to announce the partnership with Clover and diversify our insurance portfolio.” Mr Van Pelt said.
