QBE appoints Sebastiaan Lambalk as General Manager of Netherlands branch

Sebastiaan Lambalk will take on the role of General Manager for QBE’s Netherlands branch with effect from 1 January 2023, subject to regulatory approval.

Sebastiaan has 15 years’ experience in the insurance sector, having begun his career with Fortis in 2007. Over the years Sebastiaan held several European roles predominantly focusing on strategy development and execution across the insurance value chain. In 2021, Sebastiaan joined QBE as head of Strategy for Europe to support and drive the European growth agenda. He has been instrumental in the establishment of the Netherlands branch and has driven a successful recruitment programme to build the local team.

Taking over as Head of Strategy & Underwriting Transformation for Europe is Queralt Vila. With over 15 years of experience in Insurance, Queralt has held a number of senior operational and strategic roles across several international P&C insurers and InsurTechs in Switzerland and the UK. At the start of her career, Queralt was also a PI Underwriter and a Broker Manager in the London Market. Most recently, she was an Associate Director at EY in the UK, leading strategy and transformation projects in the Insurance sector.

QBE is writing business in the Netherlands incepting from January 2023, providing robust solutions to corporate and middle market customers that require a broad range of coverage and support for their international footprint.
