QBE appoints Head of Trading for the South East

QBE Europe has appointed Stephen Johnson as Head of Trading for the South East region, effective from 1st January 2024. 

In the newly created role, Stephen will lead the regional underwriting teams in London and Chelmsford, engaging with broker partners and customers. 

Johnson reports to Andy Fitzgerald, Director UK Regions for QBE Europe and takes on the role from the QBE Property team where he was Underwriting Manager, Commercial Property. He has more than 20 years of experience in the industry with previous roles at Chubb, RSA and Brit.

Andy Fitzgerald, Director UK Regions for QBE European Operations, said: “Stephen’s appointment completes the hiring of our Trading Heads across the UK regions and will further support our growth ambitions. The South East is an important region and Stephen’s role will provide additional focus to trading with our broker partners and customers in this location.”

In April and October 2023, QBE Europe increased its broker support through the appointment of Heads of Trading in each of its other regional offices as part of its growth agenda.

The appointments included:

David Round, Head of Trading, Birmingham.

Steve Field, Head of Trading, Bristol.

Chris Long, Head of Trading, Glasgow and Belfast.

Janine Wood, Head of Trading, Leeds.

Stacey Flannery, Head of Trading, Manchester.

In the UK, QBE has regional offices in Belfast, Bristol, Birmingham, Chelmsford, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, and Stafford.
