Q Underwriting issues warning to tradesman

Authored by Q Underwriting

In the past week, hundreds of tradespeople in London gathered at Parliament Square to advocate for stricter enforcement of laws aimed at preventing the theft and resale of stolen tools.

At Q Underwriting, we understand that experiencing such losses can be highly distressing for our clients. As specialists in providing tailored coverage, we are committed to addressing their specific needs.

Clive Pendrall, Underwriting Manager for our Casualty & Construction Division, offers the following advice to help clients avoid falling victim to these crimes:

Lock Them Up!

Tools are often stolen from vehicles, which are frequently taken as well. Ideally, vehicles containing tools should be stored in a locked building or compound overnight. If this is not feasible, remove the most valuable items from the vehicle overnight.

Hold onto your receipts (like your life depends on it)!

It is crucial to keep purchase receipts as evidence in the event of a claim, ensuring they are in the same name as the insurance policy.

Q Has you covered…

We offer Tools Cover for limits of £1500, £2500 or £5000 per person subject to a maximum sum insured of £20,000.

Protect your clients’ tools today!
