Specialty insurance and bonding brokerage PLATFORM has announced the appointment of Kelly MacDonald as its chief commercial officer.

In this new role, MacDonald will develop commercial client strategy and growth-driving initiatives. She will partner with the PLATFORM team to enhance client engagement and foster business innovation.

MacDonald joins PLATFORM from Aon. Her most recent position as enterprise client leader saw her coordinating between the firm’s New York and Toronto teams, overseeing vital global accounts, and supporting clients in risk and human capital.

She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario and is a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP). She also holds a Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation from the Global Risk Management Institution and a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designation.

In addition to her professional achievements, MacDonald is a volunteer board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Toronto and the Risk Management Association (RMA Toronto). She is also an active member of the Women’s Executive Network (WXN).

“Kelly brings to PLATFORM a new perspective, particularly in industry sectors we are aiming to venture deeper into,” said CEO Charles Quenneville in a news release.

“The excitement of her joining will only bolster the already high-level energy felt throughout our company. I’m eager to see our team join forces with her to envision and sculpt the next version PLATFORM – cementing its reputation as one of the paramount Canadian specialty brokerages from coast to coast.”
