PIC Insurance Brokers appoints new CEO

PIC Insurance Brokers has appointed Amanda Savill (pictured above) as chief executive officer, effective July 25.

Savill, who has been in the financial services industry for more than 20 years, has held senior leadership roles in Fire & General and Life insurance, and was most recently CEO of Loan Market New Zealand. She also previously headed the general insurance business of ANZ.

According to PIC, Savill’s appointment as CEO concludes an extensive executive search launched after the death of the company’s founder Mike Garner in March.

“The board and I are delighted to have someone of Amanda’s calibre leading PIC Insurance Brokers at an exciting time of growth for the business and significant change in our industry,” said Nigel Smith, chairman of the board, PIC Insurance Brokers. “Amanda’s vast experience in financial services and her outstanding leadership qualities make her the perfect choice for PIC, we are looking forward to welcoming her to the team and excited about the future of the business under her leadership.”

From a team of two at its foundation more than 30 years ago, PIC has grown to an 80-strong team today, with expertise across all lines of insurance and a nationwide network of offices. It is one of the largest New Zealand-owned insurance brokerages in the country.
