PassportCard and transport community-based banking organisation Transport Mutual Credit Union (Transport Mutual) have joined forces to introduce an exclusive travel insurance product tailored for members of the credit union.

The collaboration aims to offer a unique solution with comprehensive policy coverage, including built-in protection against COVID-19, coupled with prompt payouts for approved claims pertaining to medical issues abroad, delayed luggage, and stolen cash.

Aussies gear up for domestic and overseas travel

PassportCard noted millions of Australians already gearing up for domestic and international travel in the coming months. Armed with 2 million customers globally and a 24/7/365 support team based in Sydney, the insurer is strategically positioned to provide the necessary insurance coverage for travellers.

Transport Mutual deputy CEO Kathy Loutas acknowledged the customer benefits embedded in the new product.

“The product provides broad coverage, and I’m sure our members will like the idea of immediate payments, too,” she said. “The PassportCard team have made the process really easy, and we’re excited to be launching a new innovative product.”

PassportCard CEO Peter Klemt said: “We are pleased to collaborate with Transport Mutual Credit Union, recognising synergies with Customer Owned Mutual Banks.”
