Steadfast Group, Australasia’s largest insurance broking network, has sold its Underwriter Central and Insurance Connect businesses to the insurtech, JAVLN. Auckland headquartered JAVLN provides insurance policy management software for insurance companies.

“I am pleased to be able to offer Underwriter Central clients the opportunity to move on to JAVLN’s modern and easy-to-use cloud-based policy management platform,” said Chris Rouse, Steadfast’s executive general manager for technology.

A media release said the insurtech – which also has offices in Melbourne and Brisbane – “will continue to support both Steadfast owned and independent underwriting agencies using Underwriter Central, while providing a pathway for these customers to migrate to JAVLN, a more modern policy management platform.”

The release also said Melbourne-based Underwriter Central staff will join JAVLN in a deal that “bolsters” the firm’s technical consulting and support capability in Australia.

“Integrating Underwriter Central into JAVLN will increase our scale and ability to partner with other clients in Australia,” said Dale Smith (pictured above), the insurtech’s CEO and founder.

The deal made JAVLN one of the first New Zealand-based startups to access the Australian pre-IPO market.
