New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) vice chair John Tuttle is joining insurance brokerage Acrisure in September to serve as president. The appointment will see Tuttle move to Grand Rapids where he will report to Greg Williams, Acrisure’s co-founder, chair, and chief executive.

Tuttle’s tenure at the NYSE and parent company Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) began 17 years ago after he served in the US government. His previous roles include chief operating officer and chief commercial officer of the NYSE.

At the Exchange, Tuttle was integral to numerous business lines, including listings, capital markets, and exchange-traded products. He helped manage relationships with 2,400 issuers and more than 1,300 equity offerings, and recently established the NYSE Institute, which connects global commerce with public policy.

“John’s experience in the global arena will complement our entrepreneurial team, and his work in both the public and private sectors position him as a strong advocate for our company and clients as we continue to transform and grow.”

Jeff Sprecher, founder, chair, and CEO of ICE, also has nothing but nice words for Tuttle and his next employer.

“We are grateful to John for his many years of leadership and service at NYSE,” Sprecher stated. “All of us at ICE wish John the best in his new role and couldn’t be happier that he joined a company with the stature of Acrisure.

“We look forward to working with John in his new capacity and to witnessing Acrisure’s many future successes.”

The key hire, meanwhile, is “thrilled” to come on board. Tuttle, a Michigan native, described Acrisure as a company that embodies growth, ambition, and a “relentless pursuit” of excellence.

“I look forward to working closely with Greg and the entire Acrisure team to drive further success and deliver unmatched value to its clients and partners,” he said.
