NIG celebrates 1 year anniversary of risk control surveyor higher apprentices
Authored by NIG
On Tuesday 22nd November, we celebrated the one-year anniversary of our six risk control surveyor higher apprentices!
What a year it’s been; we took some time out to have a coffee and catch up to celebrate. Lucie, Josh, Georgia, Elisha, Lawrence, and Bright have been working hard during nine months of on-the-job experience, rotating through our underwriting, claims, and survey support teams. They were successful in passing their IF1 and 2 exams, and are now well underway on their L4 insurance diploma, with the M93 exam and coursework. They’ve also attended over 100 surveys with their buddies, helping write reports and making recommendations, and can look forward to completing their NEBOSH certificate straight after Christmas.
Kelly summarised their progress: “It’s been wonderful seeing this group of young people progress and develop their skills and knowledge. Their enthusiasm at spending the day at Lloyd’s and hearing directly about claims and litigation from RPC in London are stand-out moments for them. I’d like to thank NIG colleagues for the wider support they offer, and the team effort from their surveyor buddies, mentors and rotation leads.
Josh also reflected on his first year as an apprentice: “My first year at NIG has been amazing. We’ve learned so much from our rotations in different areas. Everyone I’ve encountered here has been so incredibly friendly and helpful towards me while I experienced my first year in insurance. It has been a fantastic opportunity for all of us and I am enormously grateful for it. I can’t wait to see what the future brings.’”
Congratulations to our apprentices for an amazing first year and all their hard work. We’re future-proofing our Risk Control team and proposition and look forward to the second cohort joining us in September 2023.
