Private health insurance provider nib has completed its acquisition of Port Macquarie-based National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) plan manager, All Disability Plan Management (All Disability).

Established in 2016 by Jo Hollis, All Disability has 40 employees and around 3,000 participants.

nib completed the acquisition on May 11, 2023, making All Disability the fourth plan manager the insurer has acquired since 2022.

nib enters NDIS

Last year, nib announced that it will enter the NDIS with a $158.1 million capital raise and the acquisition of its first plan manager, Maple Plan Pty Ltd (Maple Plan), in November 2022. It also launched nib Thrive, its brand for the NDIS business.

nib Thrive chief executive Martin Adlington said acquiring All Disability brings greater depth to the business along Australia’s east coast.

“Much like our other acquisitions, All Disability is a high-quality business that provides a consistent and elevated level of care to participants,” Adlington said. “[All Disability] founder Jo Hollis and her team have a very strong reputation across the mid-North Coast. We aim to continue to meet those participants’ needs and further grow the business.”

nib continues acquisition spree

Adlington said nib Thrive has several acquisitions under active consideration that are expected to be completed over the coming months.

If successful, nib Thrive will have a participant base of around 33,000, making it one of the top three plan managers in the NDIS. Additionally, it expects to reach 50,000 participants by FY2025.

Adlington further stated that there is a close alignment between nib’s role in the NDIS and that of private health insurance. The private health insurer aims to help NDIS participants by providing them with choice and control to manage their plans and delivering their support services.
