MS Transverse hires former Elementum PM Cebula as Reinsurance SVP

MS Transverse Insurance Group, a fronting carrier subsidiary of MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings, has added insurance-linked securities (ILS) expertise to its team, in the hiring of former Elementum Advisors employee Chris Cebula as Senior Vice President, Reinsurance.

Cebula spent almost a decade in the ILS market, working at ILS fund manager Elementum in portfolio management focused roles, later becoming a Partner in the asset manager.

After departing Elementum, since 2021, Cebula worked at cat-focused writer Palomar as its SVP of Reinsurance.

In announcing his hiring, MS Transverse said, Chris Cebula, “brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team at a pivotal moment in the market.”

Cebula will be tasked with steering MS Transverse’s reinsurance division, providing strategic direction to drive the reinsurance strategy at what is seen as a critical time in the market.

As Senior Vice President of Reinsurance, he will help in placing the company’s reinsurance and with strategic partnerships, plus devise new capacity options for MS Transverse partners, all with the goal of solidifying its position as a leader in the fronting carrier space.
