MS Reinsurance hires property underwriter Ramlal in Bermuda from AXIS

MS Reinsurance, the Zurich headquartered global reinsurer and part of the MS&AD insurance group, has announced the hiring of Marlin Ramlal as Senior Underwriter, Property in Bermuda.

Ramlal takes up her new role at MS Reinsurance from November 28th 2022 and will report into Andrew Shaw, Lead Underwriter, Property at the company.

Ramlal has more than 17 years’ experience in the insurance and reinsurance markets, with a significant focus on writing property and catastrophe reinsurance business out of the Bermuda marketplace.

Ramlal joins MS from her most recent position at Axis Reinsurance where she spent a decade underwriting across a number of Property & Casualty teams in the US and Bermuda, most recently as Senior Property Underwriter, Global Property in Bermuda.

Before that, Ramlal spent eight years working at RPS, which is an MGA subsidiary of AJ Gallagher, focused on underwriting E&S coverage including Commercial Liability, Property and Professional Liability.

Of course, the MS&AD Group reinsurance business has partnerships in place with insurance-linked securities (ILS) investment manager Leadenhall Capital Partners, enabling the firm to offer traditional and capital market solutions to its clients.
