Motor consultations – let us know what you think

The Government has two important consultations on motor insurance, and we would appreciate your views on them, let us have your views on the Government consultations relating to self-drive vehicles and the legal status of remote driving.

Self-driving vehicles

A Transport Select Committee inquiry is scrutinising the development and deployment of self-driving vehicles for use on the roads.  A Transport Bill, announced in the Queen’s Speech, is expected soon that will introduce legislation to safety enable self-driving and remotely operated vehicles.

Remote driving vehicles

The Law Commission is consulting on the current legal status of remote driving and considering whether reforms are needed.  This builds on work undertaken since 2018 and the joint Law Commissions’ report published in January.
