30 January 2023

MLC Life Insurance says David Stephen has been appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director and will also serve as Chair of the Board Risk Committee.

Mr Stephen replaces Andy Cornish who, following seven years on the Board, is retiring as part of planned renewal, MLC said in a statement.

He is a banking and financial services leader with more than 35 years’ experience. He has worked at Royal Bank of Scotland, ANZ Bank and Westpac, including as group chief risk officer.

MLC says he has a “strong record” in driving risk management and compliance for some of the largest financial services organisations in the world.

“I am pleased to welcome [him] to the MLC Limited Board,” Chairman Peter Grey said.

“He is one of the most experienced risk professionals in financial services and this experience will be a great asset for us as we execute the next phase of our business strategy.”
