Independent specialist re/insurance broker Miller has announced the appointment of three new hires in its Solicitors’ Professional Indemnity (PI) team.

Calum MacLean, Chris Jones, and Tom Davies join the team as Miller continues to expand its legal sector proposition. They will report to Zarina Lawley (pictured above), head of legal services.

MacLean joins as a risk manager with over 20 years of experience in the legal and insurance sectors. He was most recently a senior risk manager at QBE Insurance and has also held senior positions at Lockton and Marsh. MacLean began his career as a lawyer.

Jones joins as a senior account executive with 10 years of experience as a PI underwriter, analyst, and manager. He previously worked in the InsureTech sector and at Pen Underwriting, where he managed a portfolio of Solicitors Professional Indemnity business.

Davies joins as an account executive from Ardonagh, where he was a client manager and broker, handling direct and wholesale business for professional indemnity.

Lawley welcomed the new hires to Miller and emphasized their importance to the firm’s continued expansion.

“Their diverse industry experience and backgrounds will be invaluable as we continue to expand our Solicitors’ PI offering, providing both best-in-class risk management advisory and helping our clients find bespoke cover. We have a diverse client set, and as such benefit from a diverse team where different backgrounds contribute to a more innovative and fresh approach to business. We have gone from strength to strength in recent years, having successfully expanded our offering into the North and Southwest of the UK, and I look forward to seeing what we achieve next as we continue to bring quality people onboard,” Lawley said.
