Meridian Lawyers has expanded its insurance team through the addition of a new principal, Drina Govic.

Govic has 17 years’ experience managing a range of insurance claims and disputes, including subrogated property damage recoveries, first party coverage disputes and fraud/investigations. She will be based in Meridian’s Victorian office.

Govic’s hiring deepens Meridian’s current insurance offering and national insurance expertise, the national law firm said in a Press release.

She is one of several recent appointments at Meridian’s Victorian office, including Gabrielle Fergus, senior associate, whose experience includes managing domestic and commercial recoveries and liability claims, coverage disputes and fraud/investigations.

Meridian’s managing director, Paul Baker, said Govic is a “high calibre insurance lawyer with an outstanding track record and loyal client following.”

“We share many clients in common and with Drina’s added expertise and involvement in our insurance practice, we will broaden the scope of our legal service offering,” Baker added.

Its offices are in Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
