Meridian Lawyers bolsters insurance practice with appointment spree

Senior hires have strong track record of success and passion for developing young talent, director says

Meridian Lawyers (Meridian) has continued to boost its Australian national insurance practice by making an appointment spree.

The law firm welcomed two new principals, a consultant, and three associates to the insurance team. An additional two graduates and five paralegals have also joined.

Principals

Matthew McDonald has over 20 years of experience in insurance law with a track record in handling high frequency, complex, and sensitive claims across multiple jurisdictions. He practices in public and products liability and professional negligence.

Paul Garnon is an insurance litigation specialist with over 25 years of experience across professional indemnity (PI), fidelity, management liability, and property claims. He works closely with insurers and governments to develop and implement effective claim resolution strategies and manages a high volume of insurance recoveries and settlements practice.

Consultant

Peter Ford is a seasoned public and products liability lawyer with extensive experience in managing large, high risk, and sensitive personal injury claims.

Associates

Joining McDonald, Garnon, and Ford in Meridian’s insurance practice are associates Simon de Chasteigner du Mee, Talia Mason, and Allana Robertson.

The new hires made the total number of new recruits to Meridian’s insurance practice to 30. They will join fellow senior colleagues from McCabes and formerly Curwoods:

special counsels Laura D’Alessandri, Isabel Cusumano, and Phillip Thomas; and
senior associates Nicholas Robertson, Mia Ioannou, Sarah Zevari, and Homira Haideri.
