Lockton Re hires property retro specialist broker Ben Ryan from Aon

Lockton Re, the reinsurance arm of the global broking group, has announced the hiring of another property reinsurance and retrocession specialist, in Ben Ryan, who joins the company’s London office from his most recent role with Aon.

Lockton Re continues to build out its retrocession and specialty property reinsurance practice, having hired numerous senior brokers that specialise in this area over the last few years.

This retro-focused practice at Lockton Re is becoming a significant force in the space, with brokers that have years of experience working with both traditional and collateralized retro markets.

The latest addition is Ben Ryan, formerly of Aon, who joins Lockton Re’s Non-Marine Retrocession & Property Specialty team in London.

Ryan started his reinsurance broking career as part of the graduate programme at Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions.

He joined that brokers’ Non-Marine Retrocession team within its Global ReSpecialty division in 2015 and spent time working in New York, focused on retrocession clients across the United States and Bermuda markets, before moving back to London in 2022.
