Lockton Re hires Guy Carp property & retro specialist Kathy McCann

Lockton Re, the reinsurance arm of the global broker, has announced the hiring of Kathy McCann from Guy Carpenter, a property reinsurance and retrocession specialist.

McCann was known to be joining Lockton Re, the latest in a string of reinsurance, retrocession and also insurance-linked securities (ILS) focused hires.

She has joined the reinsurance intermediary as a Senior Broker to support client development with a focus on Property reinsurance business across various segments, including the retrocession marketplace.

McCann was most recently a Managing Director at Guy Carpenter, having previously been a Branch Manager for their Boston Office and an Account Executive for regional and national P&C companies.

In addition, McCann was a senior leader working with the Guy Carpenter global Retrocessional reinsurance business.

In her broking there, she predominately focused on pro-rata reinsurance placements.

Before her time at Guy Carpenter, McCann was a Senior Vice President at Benfield and during her career has also spent time working in the New York, London, and San Francisco markets.
