Leadenhall hires Jones from SEI for business development expansion

Leadenhall Capital Partners LLP, the London headquartered specialist insurance linked securities (ILS) and reinsurance related investments manager, has announced a new business development and fundraising focused hire, adding Alistair Jones from SEI Investments.

Alistair Jones has more than 20 years’ experience in asset management and investment consulting, advising institutional investors on asset classes including insurance-linked strategies, credit and fixed income.

He joins Leadenhall as a Managing Director reporting to Lorenzo Volpi, Managing Partner and Head of Business Development.

Jones comes from his most recent role at SEI Investments Company, as a Client Strategy Director.

Jones’ career has also seen him working with diverse clients and providing strategic allocation advice to DB pension funds, DC pension funds, charities, corporates and other institutional investors.

His previous career roles have included time spent as a Strategist, Portfolio Solutions at asset manager Schroders, as well as an Investment Consultant at Aon and an Actuarial Consultant at Willis Towers Watson.

Leadenhall Capital Partners started 2022 with US $6.2 billion of assets under management across its business of managing investment fund assets focused on life and non-life insurance-linked securities (ILS) and other reinsurance-linked investments.

Jones’ hire comes at a time when the ILS market faces new opportunities on the underwriting side, due to market conditions and the potential for expansion, as well as on the asset side as global financial markets once again display volatility.
