In an effort to boost life insurance interest for a certain Japanese demographic, life insurer Mitsui Sumitomo Aioi Life Insurance has unveiled a dating simulation game that teaches about different life insurance policies and their features.

The dating sim, titled “Watashi wa Hoken ni Hairanai” (“I Will Not Get Insurance”) is an otome (aimed at a female audience) game that features a love interest that tries to convince you to purchase different insurance plans. However, as the title implies, the goal is to resist getting insurance.

While this may sound counterintuitive, resisting the love interest’s ploys to get the player to get insurance will also lead the player to learning more about different life insurance policies and their features. According to a news release, there are also pop quizzes that pop out at certain points in the dialogue to make sure that you’re reading and learning and not just skipping through.

The dating sim features voice acting from Tomokazu Sugita, a popular Japanese voice actor best known for voicing Joseph Joestar in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, the highly popular anime. It is available on both smartphones and PCs through the Mitsui Sumitomo Aioi Life Insurance’s LINE account.

MS&AD Insurance Group, Mitsui Sumitomo Aioi Life Insurance’s parent company, recently released its summary of financial statements for the fiscal year ending March 31.
