Inszone Insurance Services, a national provider of commercial, personal, and benefits insurance, has announced the acquisition of Blue Chip Insurance, a long-established agency in Santa Fe, N.M.

This acquisition expands Inszone’s presence in the Southwest and broadens its client base, positioning the company to deliver its insurance solutions to a larger market.

Blue Chip Insurance traces its origins to 1928, when founder R.C. McBride established the agency as part of Farmers Insurance Group after relocating to Santa Fe from Pennsylvania. In 1952, McBride transitioned the agency to an independent format and integrated real estate services.

The agency changed hands in 1966 when Paul D. Winter acquired it, leading to the formation of Winter Insurance Agency in 1973. A year later, the business was sold to Blue Chip Insurance Agency, Inc.

Jay Winter (pictured above right), who joined Blue Chip Insurance in 1982, acquired the agency from Paul D Winter in 2012 alongside Jane Winter. Under their leadership, the agency continued to grow.

“We are excited to welcome Blue Chip Insurance into the Inszone family,” said Chris Walters, CEO of Inszone Insurance Services. “Jay and Jane Winter have built a remarkable agency with deep ties to the Santa Fe community, and we are honored to carry forward their legacy.”

The acquisition will allow Inszone to expand its offerings to Blue Chip Insurance’s clients, providing access to a broader range of insurance carriers while continuing to offer the personalized service the agency has been known for. Inszone aims to leverage its national presence and expertise to bring enhanced support and resources to Blue Chip Insurance’s customer base.
