23 February 2023

Insurance Brands Australia has acquired Port Melbourne-based Southern Cross Brokers, providing clients of the firm with access to a further range of products and benefits.

Southern Cross, run by husband-and-wife team Steve and Maxine Turula for almost 30 years, will move into the Insurance Brands Australia Head Office in Wellington Parade, East Melbourne.

Ms Turula has decided to retire while Mr Turula is continuing in the business, which was acquired on Monday.

Insurance Brands Australia says that while Southern Cross Brokers has merged with its Insurance House subsidiary, their service will remain the same, with additional benefits for clients as a result of joining the business.

“Insurance House is excited to partner with Southern Cross Brokers and their clients,” Insurance House GM Scott Leis said. “I look forward to supporting and working alongside Steve and the team at Southern Cross Brokers and continuing their legacy in the future.”

Insurance Brands Australia is a national business made up of six brands, including Insurance House, Insurance House Life, the Insurance House Advance authorised partners network, ProRisk Underwriting, Armada Underwriting and insurance.com.au.
