INsight podcast: code delays, more floods and ‘ghost brokers’

13 July 2022

The delay of a crucial section of the Insurance Brokers Code of Practice is discussed in depth on the latest Insurance News podcast.

As insuranceNEWS.com.au has reported, section 6.1 of the code – which covers disclosure of remuneration – couldn’t be completed before the November 1 implementation date. As a result, the section will be effective from November 1 next year, while all other code obligations will start as scheduled.

The podcast panel talks about the importance of section 6.1, and the implications of the delay.

This week’s edition of INsight, hosted by Insurance News MD Andrew Silcox, features the observations of Chairman Terry McMullan, Managing Editor John Deex and Deputy Editor Wendy Pugh.

Also discussed are the latest floods in NSW, the ongoing debate over commissions, and a “ghost broker” that has been haunting the UK.
