Kiwi insurance brokerage ICIB Brokerweb has snapped up MultiSure, including transport insurance brand TruckSure, for an undisclosed sum.

“We are delighted to have Philip and the MultiSure team join our business,” ICIB Brokerweb managing director Grant Milne (pictured), referring to MultiSure MD Philip Toohill, said in a release.

“MultiSure has been operating for over 30 years and has been providing high-quality client service and solutions to its clients, which makes this business a great fit with ICIB Brokerweb.”

The acquired firm will become part of ICIB Brokerweb’s Auckland Central team. Across NZ, the wider group has branches from Waikato to Christchurch.

Milne noted: “Having MultiSure as part of our business will bolster our heavy motor, transport, and logistics specialties.

“It means we will be able to establish a dedicated transport & logistics practice in the New Year focussed on delivering high-quality service & advice, risk management options, claims solutions, and insurance solutions backed by strong market support.”

Meanwhile Toohill highlighted that it’s business as usual for MultiSure but with the added benefit of having access to more resources and the greater leverage of ICIB Brokerweb.

Lifting the lid on the deal, he said: “ICIB Brokerweb was selected as our succession partner as they are aligned to the way we service our clients and in achieving great client results.

“Being an employee shareholder-led business, they understand the pressures business owners are under and do everything they can to support their clients through the insurance process including claims advocacy.”
